Romanian swear words

“fart / bullshit”

A fart. 'Cu nasul pe sus ca o bășină' (Nose stuck up like a fart) means arrogant.

“slut / rag”

A torn cloth. Equivalent to 'szmata' in Polish. Means a promiscuous or worthless woman.

“fuck the Virgin Mary”

Targeting the Virgin Mary. Usually appended to 'Futu-ți'.

“suck it / fuck off”

A humorous, clean alternative to 'sugi pula'.

“piss”

From the verb 'a se pișa' (to piss).

“whores (plural)”

Placed here because describing the world or politicians as 'niște curve' (some whores) is the primary political analysis method in Romania.

“waste of time / slacking off”

Doing absolutely nothing productive.

“cripple”

A person lacking the use of their legs.

“fuck your mother's sun”

Cursing the celestial bodies shining upon someone's mother. Often combined with the moon (luna).

“shit”

Human or animal feces. Used to mean something is worthless or as an exclamation.

“burn in hell”

Wishing someone to burn in hellish fire.

“fuck your church”

Cursing the church where someone's mother prays or was baptized.

“wanker / jerk / loser”

Someone who masturbates constantly; metaphorically, a useless idiot or loser.

“hell / the devil / damn”

The devil/demon. Used to add emphasis or show frustration.

“bimbo / trashy girl”

A superficial, overly tanned, heavily made-up woman seeking rich men.

“I don't give a fuck / fuck this”

Used to express giving up, not caring, or anger. Often 'Îmi bag pula în...' (I put my dick in...).

“scumbag / worthless dog”

A diseased dog. An unforgivable, treacherous, worthless person.

“goddamn your mother”

Singular variant of cursing the mother's God.
